I painted this watercolor of Lake Mauweehoo in Sherman, Connecticut to capture that quiet moment when the boats are pulled from the water and the lake settles into its off-season calm. The colors were starting to shift, the air felt cooler, and everything seemed to pause. I wanted to hold onto that feeling—the stillness, the transition, the way the lake looks when summer has packed up and fall takes over.
